SFDGC Autumn Opener Results-11/6/11
Sunday, November 6th turned out to be a signature day of environmental splendor at San Francisco’s' Golden Gate Disc Golf Course. Being the first day of autumn, all the fellas getting an extra hour to sleep-in due to the "fall back" scenario time change and the 66 degree morning with blue bird skies, it truly was of epic proportions.
63 golfers showed up to enjoy these unique Disc golf conditions. Nare a breeze or a drip on the competitors shoulders from the promised rain predictions. I couldn’t have ordered up a better day for my first time directing a tournament for this heritage league. It was a blessing. High spirits, high jinx and new friends; good times.
Since this was the autumn “tournament opener” for the SF Disc Golf league, handicap scoring won’t be in effect, until week three. The big dogs show up in droves the first couple weeks of every new season. This gives them a short opportunity to cash, straight up against their competitors. This is as close to the “Professional Open” rules as it gets at SFDGC. Still; the disc golfers have to perform well. That being said, seven men finished in the 40’s and Dmitri Konenev hit an ACE on Hole 2!!
The excel spreadsheet, with all scores and round highlights at the bottom is attached. Feel free to download and review. Cheers!
